Education on Legal Issues in Organizational Governance as an Effort to Prevent Legal Risks in the Community

Abstract

Legal issues in society, especially in organizational governance, are becoming increasingly complex alongside social and institutional developments. Low legal understanding and the less-than-optimal application of good governance principles often cause various legal risks within organizations. Therefore, this community service activity aims to provide education about the concepts, types, and forms of legal issues in organizations, as well as efforts to prevent them. The method used is an educational approach through counseling, interactive discussions, and providing materials to participants. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the concepts of legal problems, their types, as well as potential legal issues in organizations such as conflicts of interest, abuse of authority, and violations of organizational rules. In addition, participants also gained an understanding of the importance of applying the principles of transparency, accountability, and legal compliance as preventive measures. The conclusion from this activity is that legal education plays an important role in raising public legal awareness and can be an effective effort in preventing legal risks within organizations. Therefore, there is a need for the continuity of legal education programs to create professional, transparent, and integrity-driven organizations.
